According to Albert Einstein: "Only two things are Infinite; 'The Universe' and 'Human Stupidity'; and I am not too sure about the former". Albert Einstein developed a radically new perspective on the Universe. It revolutionised our understanding of its nature and opened the door to the new technologies we enjoy. He thought outside the box.
He also instigated a new perspective on Human Perception and Thinking: 'Relativistic Psychology'. In his lifetime he experienced the progressive undermining of Human Rights & Dignity in Nazi Germany and USA. He saw how ordinary people, doing as they were told, without question, destroyed or undermine a State and abused its people.
Racial Differences, Mental Illness, Learning Difficulties, Religion, Sexuality, Gender, Disability, Old Age, Intellectual & Philosophical differences and those who 'Spoke Out', were all targets for this prejudice, abuse and injustice. When we stop questioning, we stop thinking. When we stop thinking we stop seeing, understanding and recognising injustice.
All my professional life (and longer) I have listened to the accounts of ordinary people, abused by ordinary people and institutions. Most had an insight that others envied, or feared. Those that are unthinking and self interested, fear difference of any kind. That has always been the case and always will be. Be different; politely 'Speak out'.
When the majority are doing as they are told and choose to remain in the dark; When some empower themselves, at the expense of others; When abuses and injustice are justified and perpetrated in the name of 'Political Corrected' versions of Human Rights: Honest people start to ask questions and eventually get the courage to 'speak up'.
The Times They Are A Changing (again): The doors & windows are open and the wind of change is blowing through our house of cards. It is time to decide which side you are on. Politely speak up and confidently assert your moral & ethical concerns. It is time to embarrass the ignorant and self interested who rule our lives. This process has started, abusers are on the run; join the winning side.
Most people are basically good at heart, but we all make mistakes, especially when we listen to convincing selfish arguments of those with a vested interest in keeping things as they are. Mostly we are intimidated by the rational (but often dishonest) assertions of those who want to keep things as they are (in their selfish interests).
The media is fickle. Once it sees where things are going, it will meekly follow. Politicians are the same, as are all all the self interested people, in any walk of life. You can begin to see this process now. Politicians and Executive Managers are starting to be asked to take responsibility for the incompetence's they have 'induce' in their servants.
Bullies are basically cowards. Stand up to them and they buckle, when their corrupted thinking and abusive stance, stops having its desired impact and effect. Smile, say no and insist on moral and ethical conduct, which you honestly believe is in the interests of you and the people you care about, or for. Smile, stay polite and stick to clear principles.
We have been here before and the selfish & self interested, fought to hold onto their power and influence. The usual means of control is fear. They draw upon our natural fears, insecurities and reasonable doubts (our potential strengths). We don't always know what is the right answer is, butwe usually know what is wrong and unjust.
Take heed of the words of Pastor Niemoeller, He was a U-Boat Commander and followed Nazi orders. He first closed his mind and didn't ask questions. He then learned about and saw for himself, the misery that following orders and having closed minds can cause.
Niemoeller became an advocate for world piece and 'Spoke Out', along with Albert Einstein (Physicist & Humanitarian), Linus Pauling (Quantum Chemist & Peace Activist) and Albert Schweitzer (Ethics Philosopher & Humanitarian). Were these 'Conspiracy Theorists', or just Intelligent, Insightful people with a Social Conscience?

There are a great number of clever people with substantial knowledge about relatively limited areas of human understanding. These undoubtedly intelligent people see themselves as experts in their field. Unfortunately they often have very little knowledge about other, significant areas of human endeavour. The result is a highly distorted and fragmented picture of 'normality'. This expertise is tantamount to a form of ignorant arrogance. You are often being duped and it is wholly appropriate that you remain sceptical about expert opinions. Some do make a small contributions to the progress of human understanding and welfare, but are usually proven to be largely wrong in the end; "Sometime you can know too much about things of relatively little importance". We will give anyone a fair hearing, provided it is not abusive in content; But be warned, we have heard most of the counter arguments already and we are well prepared; with sound evidence, theory and rational arguments. Most of what we write here is 'original thinking', not regurgitation. We are interested in Original Thinking and Radical views. Radical thinking is the leading edge of true knowledge.
All the topics covered here are always open to debate and challenge. We rarely deal in opinions - we operate from the basis of substantiated facts, fundamental principles, rigorous thinking and direct, experiential evidence - this is a different order of understanding. Some say things will never change. This is a self fulfilling prophesy - we challenge that assumption. Human adaptation wills that natural social order will prevail, for those who 'collectively' survive. Our evolution did not end with Darwin, it began in earnest. We are collective 'Survivors'; our ideas will survive over the prevalent, Neanderthal forms of thinking. This is how it has always been. since Neolithic times at least. If what you are told does not fit your reality - then its wrong!
If you read from a book to understand humanity, then directly apply this to your engagement with individuals; you are doing those those people a disservice. If you read from books to understand yourself, you are doing yourself a disservice. What is written can only be a two dimensional understanding of humanity. If you seek to understand yourself and others through experience, read and debate to get the ideas and words to explain your experiences, then you are Author of your own future. Write about those experiences and you could then help others be the Authors of their own futures.
Real change comes from within, not imposed from without. If what we are told to 'do' does not fit with what we feel is right, then there is something wrong with what you have been told; 'always'; Look to Understanding. If what you are told to think, does not fit with what you believe within your heart; Look to Justice. If what you feel fits in with what you understand then you have found real knowledge. If you realise that this knowledge does explain everything you meet; then you have found some wisdom. If you die, you stop learning earthly things. But, what you have recorded will touch the hearts of those who understand.
Every step you take, every move you make, with senses open and an open mind; the more you uncover and more there is to know. The universe is Infinite and so is human stupidity. Today's knowledge is tomorrows ignorance, that is how it is, how it has always been and how it always will be. So, get out of the new road if you can't lend a hand, for the order is rapidly fading; the times they are a changing. Adapt or become extinct; like our Neanderthal ancestors. They provided our 'red in tooth and claw', emergency backup to the advanced forms of social adaptation and cooperation. It is time to defeat and tame the Neanderthal within us.
